2016-2016 Founding Members of Omega Phi Alpha

Jordan Spraker, President

Jordan Spraker is the founding president of Omega Phi Alpha at Virginia Tech. She is a senior in Hospitality and Tourism Management and minoring in Psychology. She joined OPA to get more involved within Virginia Tech, the Blacksburg community, and upholding Virginia Tech's school motto "Ut Prosim." She enjoys giving back in any way that she can, and being a part of OPA has allowed her to do so. 

Darian LaPorta, Vice President

Darien LaPorta is a Junior studying Criminology
and Sociology and minoring in Peace studies
and Violence Prevention. She serves as the Vice President of OPhiA and is excited about OPhiaA
to get involved in as many service projects as possible. Darien loves that this organization’s
main focus is on service.

Haley Williams, Service Director

Haley is a junior here at Virginia Tech. She is majoring in Multimedia Journalism with the hopes of working in the media production industry after graduation. Haley is excited to be apart of Omega Phi Alpha and is honored to be Service Director. She has always had a passion for service and loves making a difference in the lives of others.

Meredith Dove, Treasurer

Meredith is a sophomore at Virginia Tech and serves as the Omega Phi Alpha Treasurer.  She is majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Statistics.  She joined Omega Phi Alpha to give back to the community and to meet people who enjoyed service.

Saige McGovern, Secretary

Saige is a sophomore Professional and Technical Writing/Pre-Law major and Linguistics minor. Saige wanted to join OPA to make new friends and build lasting relationships through service, and her favorite service areas are mental health and community-at-large. This year, she is serving as the secretary for the Virginia Tech colony.

Annabelle Hoffman, Membership Director

Annabelle Hoffman is a sophomore Criminology and Sociology double major. She joined Omega Phi Alpha because she wanted to be a part of an inclusive sisterhood that makes a difference.

Taylor Johnson, Sisterhood chair

Taylor Johnson is a Junior and Public Relations major. Taylor is the Sisterhood Chair. She joined Omega Phi Alpha because, she feels that giving back through service is something everyone should do, and wanted to do this while making sisters for life.

Makena Glemser, Webmaster

Makena Glemser is a sophomore in Business Information Technology and Marketing and is
the webmaster for Omega Phi Alpha. She joined OPhiA to give back to the Blacksburg community with others who are passionate about service.

Chloe Colvin

Chloe Colvin is a junior Real Estate Major. She joined OPhiA because she loves service and giving back to a community that has given her so much. Chloe feels OPhiA allows her to interact with like-minded girlies and become more involved on campus. 

Jasmine Curran, Historian

Jasmine Curran is a sophomore at Tech double majoring in Criminology and Sociology with an option in women and gender studies and a minor in Peace Studies and Violence Prevention.

Amber Scites, Retreat Chair

Amber Scites is a Junior in Human Nutrition,
Foods, and Exercise major in the Science of Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise option. She
joined Omega Phi Alpha because she wanted
to be apart of a sisterhood that was rooted in service and to get more involved in the community.

Angela Banko

Angela Banko is a sophomore studying neuroscience and biological science. She has always loved doing service and loves the sisterhood aspect of OPhiA that you don't get with other service organizations. 

Christina Dao

Christina Dao is a sophomore studying Computer Modeling and Data Analytics (CMDA) at Virginia Tech. In an ideal world, she would spend all her time helping animals. When she first came to Tech, she was set on becoming involved in a project or organization that reflects her desire to help animals and the community she lives in. After meeting and befriending such a dedicated group of girls, it was clear Omega Phi Alpha was an organization that wouldn’t stop until they made a difference. It is because of this group’s determination, enthusiasm, and love of service that she joined OPhiA.

Gina Chong

Gina Chong is a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in biochemistry and minoring in chemistry. She joined Omega Phi Alpha because she wanted to meet other girls who shared the same interest in service as she does.

Olivia Devina

Olivia Devina is a junior in Industrial and Systems Engineering. She joined OPhiA to become more involved with the community and meet new friends.

Emma Hollandsworth

Emma Hollandsworth is a junior double majoring in Psychology and Human Development. She loves the combination of sisterhood and service that OPA offers and is excited to work more with underserved members of our community.

Annie Keever

Annie Keever is a senior at Virginia Tech, majoring in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and minoring in Psychology. She joined OPhiA to make friends and bond through service. 

Logan Mehalic

Logan is a sophomore studying Psychology and Business Leadership. Logan wanted to join OPA to meet new people and give back to the community around Virginia Tech. Her favorite service areas include mental health and working with children. 

Elise Nicewick

Elise Nicewick is a Sophomore at VT majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. She joined OPA in a search to find a community of sisters that share her passion for service and to be a part of something greater than herself. 

Rachael Qualley

Rachael Qualley is a senior majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering and minoring in Green Engineering. She joined Omega Phi Alpha to find a new way to uphold Virginia Tech's motto, Ut Prosim, while also being apart of a community of amazing women. 

Aileen Rivera

Aileen is a sophomore majoring in Fashion Merchandising and Design. She joined OPhiA because she has a passion for giving back to others and loves that the sisterhood embraces and accepts everyone. 

Amala Sengkhyavong

Amala Sengkhyvong is a junior studying Health, Nutrition, Fitness & Exercise. She joined OPhiA to be able to give back to the community while being part of a sisterhood that was open and accepting to everyone.

Brooke Smith

Brooke Smith is a freshman studying Neuroscience. She joined OPhiA because she is currently a part of the SERVE living learning community and has always had a passion for community service. Brooke loves OPhiA's focus on sisterhood as well.

Ashley Weatherford

Ashley Weatherford is a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience at Virginia Tech. She joined Omega Phi Alpha for a chance to serve the community with her friends.

Courtney Wilson

Courtney Wilson is a senior studying Natural Resources Conservation and minoring in Forestry. Courtney is excited to be a founding member of Omega Phi Alpha's Virginia Tech colony. She has always had a passion for community service and thought that joining OPA would be a great opportunity to become more involved on campus.
